SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1.2.1
General Requirements
[The] [Each] engine shall be provided and installed complete and totally
functional, with all necessary ancillary equipment including, but not
engine rating shall be in accordance with SAE J1995. The [diesel] [natural
gas fueled] engine pump drives shall be complete units with all components,
assembly shall have the capabilities required, for proper operation with
the pump specified under Section 15131A VERTICAL PUMPS, AXIAL-FLOW AND
MIXED-FLOW IMPELLER-TYPE and the speed reducer specified in Section 15005A
SPEED REDUCERS FOR STORM WATER PUMPS.

Performance Requirements

NOTE: The designer should specify the service
requirements for the pump drive: Continuous,
Standby, or Emergency. The designer should furnish
pump manufacturer's data including pump curves and
plans unless this specification is used in
conjunction with pump specification UFGS-15131A as a
package. The selection of the engine speed should
follow the guidance given in EM 1110-2-3105. Rated
capacity should be based on the pump manufacturer's
recommendation.
