current cost, catalog order number, and a recommended list of
spare parts to be stocked. Manuals shall also include data
outlining detailed procedures for system startup and operation,
and a troubleshooting guide which lists possible operational
problems and corrective action to be taken. A brief description
of all equipment, basic operating features, and routine
maintenance requirements shall also be included. Documents shall
be bound in a binder marked or identified on the spine and front
cover. A table of contents page shall be included and marked with
pertinent contract information and contents of the manual. Tabs
shall be provided to separate different types of documents, such
as catalog ordering information, drawings, instructions, and
spare-parts data. Index sheets shall be provided for each section
of the manual when warranted by the quantity of documents included
under separate tabs or dividers.
Three additional copies of the instructions manual within 30
days following the approval of the manuals.
1.4
DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
Devices and equipment shall be visually inspected by the Contractor when
received and prior to acceptance from conveyance. Stored items shall be
protected from the environment in accordance with the manufacturer's
published instructions. Damaged items shall be replaced. Oil filled
transformers and switches shall be stored in accordance with the
manufacturer's requirements.
1.5
EXTRA MATERIALS
One additional spare fuse or fuse element for each furnished fuse or fuse
element shall be delivered to the Contracting Officer when the electrical
system is accepted. Two complete sets of all special tools required for
maintenance shall be provided, complete with a suitable tool box. Special
tools are those that only the manufacturer provides, for special purposes
(to access compartments, or operate, adjust, or maintain special parts).
1.6
DRAWINGS
1.6.1
Detail Drawings
components of an item and system are assembled, function together, and how
they will be installed on the project. Data and drawings for component
parts of an item or system shall be coordinated and submitted as a unit.
Data and drawings shall be coordinated and included in a single submission.
Multiple submissions for the same equipment or system are not acceptable
except where prior approval has been obtained from the Contracting Officer.
In such cases, a list of data to be submitted later shall be included with
the first submission. Detail drawings shall show physical arrangement,
construction details, connections, finishes, materials used in fabrication,
provisions for conduit or busway entrance, access requirements for
installation and maintenance, physical size, electrical characteristics,
foundation and support details, and equipment weight. Drawings shall be
drawn to scale and/or dimensioned. Optional items shall be clearly
