Section 16050N BASIC ELECTRICAL MATERIALS AND METHODS, applies to this
section, with the additions and modifications specified herein.
1.3
DEFINITIONS
a.
Active mode: That in which some type of signal is continuously
sent across the link, resulting in simple link breaks being
readily detected.
b.
Element: Constituent part of a complex signal such as AC or DC
voltage or current, AC phase, or frequency duration.
c.
Fail-safe: Capability to monitor for system functions and to
report an alarm when a failure is detected in a critical system
function.
d.
Installer: Either the Contractor or a subcontractor with whom the
Contractor has a firm contractual agreement.
e.
Intruder:
