whether metal, vinyl, or wood molding is required.
If metal or vinyl cap moldings are shown on the
drawings, provisions in this paragraph should be
modified accordingly. Delete inapplicable text if
wainscot doesn't apply.

PRIMER AND ADHESIVE

Management District (SCAQMD) Rule #1168 as noted
complies with LEED and SPiRit requirements.
When mold is a problem in the area consider
specifying mold proof primers and adhesives.

Primer and adhesive shall be of a type recommended by the wallcovering
manufacturer, contain a non-mercury based mildewcide, and comply with
local indoor air quality standards.[ VOC content must be less than the
current VOC content limits of SCAQMD Rule #1168.] Primer shall permit
removal of the wallcovering and protect the wall surface during removal,
gypsum wallboard facing paper shall not be damaged during removal of
wallcovering. Adhesive shall be strippable. When required, primer and
adhesive for textile wallcovering shall be of the type used for testing to
comply with NFPA 265, UBC 42-2, or UBC 8-2 requirements. When substrate
color variations show through vinyl wallcovering, a white pigmented primer
as recommended by the wallcovering manufacturer shall be used to conceal
the variations. Adhesive to install cornerguards and wainscot cap shall be
of a type recommended by the manufacturer of the cornerguards and wainscot
cap.
2.6
COLOR, TEXTURE, AND PATTERN

Editing of color reference sentence(s) shall be
coordinated with the Government. Generally the
09915 Color Schedule or drawing is used when the
project is designed by an Architect or Interior

manufacturers standard colors or identified in this
specification only when the project has minimal
