BPVC SEC IX. Welding procedures qualified by others, and welders and
welding operators qualified by another employer may be accepted as
permitted by ASME B31.1. The Contracting Officer shall be notified 24
hours in advance of tests and the tests shall be performed onsite, if
practical. The welder or welding operator shall apply the assigned symbol
near each weld personally made as a permanent record. Structural members
shall be welded in accordance with [Section 05090A WELDING, STRUCTURAL]
[welding and nondestructive testing procedures specified in Section 05093
WELDING PRESSURE PIPING].

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Exposed moving parts, parts that produce high operating temperature, parts
which may be electrically energized, and parts that may be a hazard to
operating personnel shall be insulated, fully enclosed, guarded, or fitted
with other types of safety devices. Safety devices shall be installed so

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
All equipment delivered and placed in storage shall be stored with
protection from the weather, humidity and temperature variations, dirt and

1.6.1
Verification of Dimensions
After becoming familiar with all details of the work, the Contractor shall
verify all dimensions in the field, and shall advise the Contracting
Officer of any discrepancy before performing any work.
1.6.2
Drawings
Because of the small scale of the drawings, it is not possible to indicate
all offsets, fittings, and accessories that may be required. The
Contractor shall carefully investigate the plumbing, fire protection,
electrical, structural and any other features or conditions that would
affect the work to be performed and shall arrange such work accordingly,
furnishing required offsets, fittings, and accessories to meet such
features or conditions. The Contractor shall submit Drawings consisting of:
details to include energy recovery equipment.
b.
Piping layouts which identify all valves and fittings.
c. Plans and elevations which identify clearances required for
maintenance and operation.
