Hazardous Waste
Any discarded material, liquid, solid, or gas, which meets the definition
of hazardous material or is designated hazardous waste by the Environmental
Protection Agency or State Hazardous Control Authority as defined in 40 CFR
260, 40 CFR 261, 40 CFR 262, 40 CFR 263, 40 CFR 264, 40 CFR 265, 40 CFR 266,
40 CFR 268, 40 CFR 270, 40 CFR 271, 40 CFR 272, 40 CFR 273, 40 CFR 279, and
40 CFR 280.

Oily Waste
Petroleum products and bituminous materials.

Regulated Waste
Those solid waste that have specific additional Federal, state, or local
controls for handling, storage, or disposal.

Class I Ozone Depleting Substance (ODS)
Class I ODS is defined in Section 602(a) of The Clean Air Act and includes

Any material that is defined in 49 CFR 171, listed in 49 CFR 172, and
regulated as a hazardous material in accordance with 49 CFR 173, requires a
which during end use, treatment, handling, storage, transportation or
disposal meets or has components which meet or have the potential to meet
the definition of a Hazardous Waste in accordance with 40 CFR 261.
Throughout this specification, hazardous material includes hazardous
chemicals.
1.3
SUBMITTALS

for adequate quality control. The importance of an
item in the project should be one of the primary
factors in determining if a submittal for the item
should be required.
A "G" following a submittal item indicates that the
submittal requires Government approval. Some
submittals are already marked with a "G". Only
delete an existing "G" if the submittal item is not
complex and can be reviewed through the Contractor's
