all mill scale and rust. However, the surfaces shall be cleaned to remove
all grease and other foreign matter. Paint shall not be applied when the
temperature is below 10 degrees C 50 degrees F or above 32 degrees C 90
degrees F.
2.11.4
Equipment Coating
Equipment and component items, when fabricated from ferrous metal, shall be
factory finished with the manufacturer's standard finish if located within
buildings. Items located outside shall have weather-resistant finishes
that will withstand 500 hours of exposure to the salt-spray test specified
in ASTM B 117, using a 20 percent sodium chloride solution. This test may
be performed on test specimens coated and finished in the same manner as
the actual equipment. Immediately after the test, the specimens shall show
no sign of blistering, wrinkling, cracking, or loss of adhesion and no sign
of rust beyond 3 mm 1/8 inch on either side of the scratch mark.
2.12
FACTORY TESTS
Initial capacity and performance tests of factory-assembled boiler
components shall be conducted at the manufacturer's plant. Any material or
equipment rejected shall be either repaired or replaced before installation.

3.1
INSTALLATION
