Sanitary Sewer Pressure Lines

1.3
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The construction required herein shall include appurtenant structures and
building sewers to points of connection with the building drains 1.5 m 5
feet outside the building to which the sewer system is to be connected.
The Contractor shall replace damaged material and redo unacceptable work at
no additional cost to the Government. Backfilling shall be accomplished
after inspection by the Contracting Officer. Before, during, and after
installation, plastic pipe and fittings shall be protected from any
environment that would result in damage or deterioration to the material.
The Contractor shall have a copy of the manufacturer's instructions
available at the construction site at all times and shall follow these
instructions unless directed otherwise by the Contracting Officer.
Solvents, solvent compounds, lubricants, elastomeric gaskets, and any
similar materials required to install the plastic pipe shall be stored in
accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation and shall be discarded if
the storage period exceeds the recommended shelf life. Solvents in use
shall be discarded when the recommended pot life is exceeded.
1.4
SUBMITTALS

NOTE: Submittals must be limited to those necessary
for adequate quality control. The importance of an
item in the project should be one of the primary
factors in determining if a submittal for the item
should be required.
A "G" following a submittal item indicates that the
submittal requires Government approval. Some
submittals are already marked with a "G". Only
delete an existing "G" if the submittal item is not
complex and can be reviewed through the Contractor's
submittal is sufficiently important or complex in
context of the project.
For submittals requiring Government approval on Army
projects, a code of up to three characters within
the submittal tags may be used following the "G"
designation to indicate the approving authority.
