Perform excitation test on transformers used for relaying
applications.

Measure circuit burden at transformer terminals and determine the

When applicable, perform insulation resistance and dielectric
withstand tests on the primary winding with secondary grounded.

CAUTION: Changes of connection, insertion, and removal of
instruments, relays, and meters shall be performed in such a
manner that the secondary circuits of energized current
transformers are not opened momentarily.

marks or H1 - X1 relationships as applicable

Visual and mechanical inspection

Compare equipment nameplate data with specifications and approved
shop drawings.

Inspect physical and mechanical condition.

Verify tightness of accessible bolted electrical connections by

4.
Measure electrolyte specific gravity and temperature and visually
check fill level.
5.
Verify adequacy of battery support racks, mounting, anchorage, and
clearances.
