PRODUCTS
2.1
STANDARD PRODUCTS
Materials and equipment shall be standard products of a manufacturer
regularly engaged in the manufacture of such products and shall essentially
duplicate items that have been in satisfactory use for at least 2 years
prior to bid opening.
2.2
NAMEPLATES
All equipment shall have a nameplate that identifies the manufacturer's
name, address, type or style, model or serial number, and catalog number.
2.3
REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE
Materials and Equipment shall have been tested by Underwriters
Laboratories, Inc. and listed in UL Fire Prot Dir or approved by Factory
Mutual and listed in FM P7825a and FM P7825b. Where the terms "listed" or
"approved" appear in this specification, such shall mean listed in UL Fire
Prot Dir or FM P7825a and FM P7825b.
2.4
UNDERGROUND PIPING COMPONENTS

details and the underground water mains for the
sprinkler system. The drawings must show details of
the water service point-of-entry into the building
and through the floor slab, and underground piping
restraints, including number and size of restraining
rods and thrust blocks.

2.4.1
Pipe
Piping from a point 150 mm 6 inches above the floor to [a point 1500 mm 5
feet outside the building wall] [the point of connection to the existing
water mains] shall be ductile iron with a rated working pressure of [1034]
[1207] [_____] kPa [150] [175] [_____] psi conforming to AWWA C151, with
cement mortar lining conforming to AWWA C104. Piping more than 1500 mm 5
feet outside the building walls shall comply with Section 02510A WATER
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM.
2.4.2
Fittings and Gaskets
Fittings shall be ductile iron conforming to AWWA C110. Gaskets shall be
suitable in design and size for the pipe with which such gaskets are to be
used. Gaskets for ductile iron pipe joints shall conform to AWWA C111.

Gate Valve and Indicator Post
