CAST-IN-PLACE STRUCTURAL CONCRETE FOR CIVIL WORKS

NOTE: This guide specification covers the
requirements for furnishing, hauling, and placing
the cast-in-place structural concrete complete, as
specified herein and shown on the contract drawings.
Comments and suggestions on this guide specification
are welcome and should be directed to the technical
proponent of the specification. A listing of
technical proponents, including their organization
designation and telephone number, is on the Internet.
Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as
a Criteria Change Request (CCR).
Use of electronic communication is encouraged.
Brackets are used in the text to indicate designer
choices or locations where text must be supplied by
the designer.

PART 1
GENERAL

NOTE: The characteristics that distinguish this
specification from UFGS-03700 MASS CONCRETE, are:
1. Concrete strengths and maximum permitted
water-cement ratios are specified.
2. The proportioning of concrete mixtures is the
responsibility of the Contractor.
3. Measurement of concrete is on the basis of the
actual volume of concrete within pay lines of the
structure as indicated on the drawings. Payment is
made at contract prices per cubic meter (yard) for
various items on the schedule. As an option payment
