NOTE: This guide specification covers the
requirements for procurement, installation, and
testing of land and fresh water construction timber
piles.
Comments and suggestions on this guide specification
are welcome and should be directed to the technical
proponent of the specification. A listing of
technical proponents, including their organization
designation and telephone number, is on the Internet.
Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as
a Criteria Change Request (CCR).
Use of electronic communication is encouraged.
Brackets are used in the text to indicate designer
choices or locations where text must be supplied by
the designer.

NOTE: Requirements for materials and procedures for
special or unusual design should be added as
necessary to fit specific projects. Marine piling
for waterfront and other marine type structures
should be specified in another section of the
project specification.

NOTE: The following information shall be shown on
Subsurface data: Subsurface-soil-data logs should
be shown on the drawings. The subsoil investigation
report and samples of material taken from subsurface
investigations may be examined in the office where
bids are received, the office of the Resident
Officer in Charge of Construction, and the
Architect/Engineer's office.
