shall abide by the requirement of NAVSHIPYDNORINST P5100.56, Volume III,
Chapter 10, "Control of Occupations Exposure to Mercury and Mercury
Compounds." Mercury may have harmful effects on personnel, materials and
the environment. The Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Office
(Code 106) must be contacted for approval prior to using mercury, mercury
compounds, mercury containing items, equipment, materials or prior to using
any materials contaminated by mercury. Mercury containing items, including
