UL 467. Rods shall be the sectional type, copper-encased steel, with a
minimum diameter of 19 mm3/4 inch and a minimum length of 3050 mm10 feet.
The rods shall have a hard, clean, smooth, continuous copper surface, and
the proportion of copper shall be uniform throughout the length of the rod.
The copper shall have a minimum wall thickness of .33 mm.013 inch at any
point on the rod. Ground rods shall not protrude more than 150 mm6 inches
above grade. Non-current carrying metallic parts associated with new fire
alarm equipment shall have maximum resistance to solid "earth" ground not
to exceed the following values:
