NOTE: A metal casing should not be used except for
a maximum of 1.5 meter 5 feet at the top for a well
cap which also serves as a support for the
suspension ropes. The drilling mud on the sides of
the hole will usually keep the hole open until the
anodes and coke breeze are installed. If a casing
must be used, it should be fiberglass reinforced
plastic (non-metallic), should be located above the
anode string and must be perforated to allow contact
between the coke breeze and the surrounding
electrolyte.
