DOCK LEVELERS

NOTE: This guide specification covers requirements
for dock bumpers, truck-trailer restraining devices,
and industrial, mechanical and electro-hydraulic
dock levelers of the fixed hinged type.
Comments and suggestions on this guide specification
are welcome and should be directed to the technical
proponent of the specification. A listing of
technical proponents, including their organization
designation and telephone number, is on the Internet.
Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as
a Criteria Change Request (CCR).
Use of electronic communication is encouraged.

NOTE: Use dock levelers (ramps) to span and
compensate for space and height differentials
between loading docks and freight carriers in order
to facilitate safe and efficient freight transfer.
The ramps are recessed into preformed pits in the
loading docks.
