POROUS FRICTION COURSE FOR AIRFIELDS AND ROADS

NOTE: This guide specification covers the
requirements for bituminous porous friction course
for airfields and roads.
Comments and suggestions on this guide specification
are welcome and should be directed to the technical
proponent of the specification. A listing of
technical proponents, including their organization
designation and telephone number, is on the Internet.
Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as
a Criteria Change Request (CCR).
Use of electronic communication is encouraged.
Brackets are used in the text to indicate designer
choices or locations where text must be supplied by
the designer.

NOTE: When it is necessary to require Contractor
mix design, the appropriate paragraphs will be
carefully edited, paying close attention to the
wording and in these paragraphs always changing
"will" to "shall." The evaluation of aggregates and
mix design development should be performed by an
approved commercial testing laboratory at no expense
to the Government. If Contractor mix design is
used, paragraph SUBMITTALS will be edited to require
certified copies of aggregate tests and job mixture
for approval prior to use in the work.
