NOTE: This guide specification covers the

requirements for water source heat pump systems and

ground source closed-loop heat pump systems.

Comments and suggestions on this guide specification

are welcome and should be directed to the technical

proponent of the specification. A listing of

technical proponents, including their organization

designation and telephone number, is on the Internet.

Recommended changes to a UFGS should be submitted as

a Criteria Change Request (CCR).

Use of electronic communication is encouraged.

Brackets are used in the text to indicate designer

choices or locations where text must be supplied by

the designer.

MIL-HDBK-1003/3, "Heating, Ventilating, Air

Conditioning, and Dehumidifying Systems," ASHRAE

CIGSHP (ISBN1-883413-21-4), and IGSHPA Design

Manuals.

the project design drawings:

1. Design parameters for each item of equipment

including capacity, efficiency, sound ratings, motor

speeds, electrical characteristics, and special

features.

2. Design heat pump systems for energy efficiency

in compliance with FEMP/Energy Star requirements
