Insulating brick shall comply with ASTM C 155.

Refractory Mortar
Refractory mortar shall comply with ASTM F 1097.

Castable Refractories
Castable refractories shall be ASTM C 401. The minimum modulus of rupture
for transverse strength shall be not less than 4136 kPa 600 psi after being
heat soaked for 5 hours or more at a temperature in excess of 1371.1
degrees C 2500 degrees F.

Galvanized Steel
Galvanized steel shall be ASTM A 653/A 653M.

Uncoated Steel
Uncoated steel shall be composition, condition, and finish best suited to
the intended use.

Gaskets
Gaskets shall be nonasbestos material in accordance with ASME B16.20, full
face or self-centering type. The gaskets shall be of the spiral wound type
with graphite filler material.

Steel Pipe and Fittings
2.11.12.1
Steel Pipe
Steel pipe shall be ASTM A 53/A 53M, Type E or S, Grade A or B, black
steel, standard weight.
2.11.12.2
Steel Pipe Fittings
Fittings shall have the manufacturer's trademark affixed in accordance with
MSS SP-25 so as to permanently identify the manufacturer.
