1/2 inch high capital letters. The color code board shall be mounted and
located in the mechanical or equipment room. The color code system shall

ESCUTCHEONS
Escutcheons shall be provided to finished surfaces where bare or insulated
piping exposed to view passes through floors, walls, or ceilings, except in
boiler, utility, or equipment rooms. Escutcheons shall be fastened
securely to pipe or pipe covering and shall be satin finish,
corrosion-resisting steel, polished chromium-plated zinc alloy, or polished
chromium-plated copper alloy. Escutcheons shall be either one piece or
split-pattern, held in place by internal spring tension or setscrew.

PAINTING
Painting of pipes, hangers, supports, and other iron work, in concealed
spaces or exposed, is specified in Section 09900 PAINTS AND COATINGS.

TESTS, FLUSHING AND DISINFECTION

3.22.1
Plumbing System
The following tests shall be performed on the plumbing system in accordance
with ICC IPC, except that the drainage and vent systemfinal test shall
include the smoke test. The Contractor has the option to perform a
peppermint test in lieu of the smoke test. If a peppermint test is chosen,
the Contractor must submit a testing procedure to the Contracting Officer
for approval.
