valves, engines, turbines, or transformers. Measure the sound
pressure levels around mechanical and electrical machinery located
in equipment spaces, one meter 3 feet horizontally from the edge
closest to the acoustical center of the machinery at points one
meter and 1.68 meter 3 feet and 5.5 feet above floor. Take
measurements at the center of each side of the machinery. Locate
the microphone at least one meter 3 feet from the observer and
measuring instruments. Observer shall not be between the
machinery and the measuring instrument.
