Officer when aggregates vary more than 0.2 in specific gravity.

2.1.1
Coarse Aggregate
Coarse aggregate shall consist of clean, sound, durable particles meeting
the following requirements.
2.1.1.1
Abrasion
**************************************************************************
NOTE: The Los Angeles abrasion test is used in
excluding aggregates known to be unsatisfactory or
percentage of loss will be inserted in the blanks.
The values inserted will be based on aggregates in
the area that have been previously approved or that
have a satisfactory service record in bituminous
pavement construction for at least 5 years. Upper
limits of 25 percent for airfields and 40 percent
for roads are recommended.
